Keynote Speaker – Bianca Miller-Cole
Serial Entrepreneur, Mentor, Speaker and Sunday Times Bestselling Author

Bianca Miller-Cole is an award-winning Entrepreneur and founder of ‘go to’ personal branding company The Be Group. Bianca became known as a public face after an excellent performance on BBC The Apprentice in 2014 where she initially pitched the idea to redefine nude hosiery via her brand Bianca Miller London and has since taken it from idea to reality, including being awarded ‘Forbes 30 under 30’ status.

In 2017 she co-authored the Amazon No.1 bestselling book, Self Made: The Definitive Guide to Business Start-up Success, to help others on their personal brand and business journey, resulting in a thriving community of mentees. In 2019 Bianca was an expert on Channel 4 show ‘Save Well, Spend Better’, helping members of the public with their financial dilemmas. In 2021 Penguin published Bianca’s second book “The Business Survival Kit” created to support entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs alike to survive and thrive in business. In its first week the book became a ‘Sunday Times Bestseller’ in two categories.

Her work does not stop there–she continues to work with charities and brands to inspire men and women alike to believe in their dreams but moreover to understand the actions required to make them a reality.

 

State of the Industry Panelist – Mark Adlestone
Chairman of the Beaverbrooks Group

Beaverbrooks currently has 81 stores in the UK, including 3 Loupe Showrooms and 14 Monobrand Boutiques. Joining Beaverbrooks in 1979 as the third generation in this family business, Mark became Joint Managing Director in 1990, sole Managing Director in 2000, and Chairman in 2012. During his tenure, Beaverbrooks has been awarded Employer of the Year nine times in the past ten years by the UK Jewellery Awards.

Mark is active in many industry and charitable organizations in the Manchester area. He is Chair of The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust. Since 2000, the Trust has donated more than £20 million to over 1,000 charities.

In 2015, Adlestone was presented with the Order of the British Empire for ‘Services to Business and Charity in the North of England’. In 2017, at the UK Jewellery Awards Dinner, Mark was presented with the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’.

 

State of the Industry Panelist – Howard Levine
Managing Director of Diamnet

Howard Levine’s jewellery career started with pearls but changed to diamonds after nearly 14 years when he took the position of sales director for H. Chalfen Ltd. His experience there gave him a great understanding of jewellery and the UK consumer. At Chalfen, he launched the UK's first B2B online diamond portal, started a successful branding for D colour diamonds and was promoted to managing director.

Leaving Chalfen in 2017, Howard started Diamnet which hosts online listings of over 300,000 diamonds and was the first to add laboratory-grown diamonds to our listings along with natural diamonds. Under his leadership, Diamnet created a brand of jewellery called Hayes & Lake and is an official suppliers to the Company of Master Jewellers. Howards sits on the council for the London Diamond Bourse and is a member of the Diamond Expert Group.

 

State of the Industry Panelist – Johanna Levy
Vice President of Environmental, Social and Governance Programs, GIA

Johanna comes to GIA from Firmenich, the largest privately-owned company in the flavor and fragrance industry. As senior director of global environmental excellence and previously director of sustainability for North America, she built ambitious, company-wide programs, client-facing initiatives and collaborations with non-governmental organizations and ESG risk-rating agencies focused on supply chain transparency and net positive impact. Before Firmenich, she worked in-house and as a consultant to global brands, including Google, Nestlé and the World Gold Council.

Johanna has prior experience in marketing and marketing communications. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts in extension studies with a concentration in environmental sciences from Harvard University; a Master of Science in sustainability management from Columbia University and a Master’s degree in Management from ESCP in Europe.
