Founded by a jeweller concerned about the lack of knowledge and credibility in the gem and jewellery industry, GIA is a non-profit institute committed to protecting and educating the public. Since 1931, GIA has spearheaded the standardisation of gemstone evaluation by creating the 4Cs of Diamond Quality and the GIA 7 Pearl Value Factors™. Fuelled by the research carried out in GIA’s world-class laboratories, GIA Education translates in-depth knowledge into practical skills to teach and train the next generation of jewellery leaders and professionals.
